Southeast Asia Representative
Dear Pastors and Ministry Partners,
It is with great joy that I write to you today to introduce you to EMU International (Evangelical Mission to the Unreached) and to extend a warm welcome to Cedric Wong, who has recently joined our organization as the Southeast Asia Representative. I have known Cedric for over fifteen years and have partnered with him in his ministry in Hong Kong. In fact, before joining EMU International, I served in pastoral ministry for twenty-five years. My first international mission trip was to Hong Kong to assist Cedric in his efforts to establish Christian camps and train house pastors in Mainland China. Humanly speaking, he is one of the main reasons I am now serving as a missions director. You can read more about my personal journey on my website: https://pastorjeffdavis.com.
Cedric’s role at EMU perfectly aligns with our mission, and we are excited to see the incredible impact he will have on our shared ministry goals. EMU International was originally founded as the Evangelical Mission to Uruguay. In 1987 the mission began its ministry expansion into other countries in addition to Uruguay, and in 1993 the mission’s name was changed to EMU International to accommodate these changes. We now serve nineteen cross-cultural families and around thirty national families in ten countries and the 10-40 Window.
Our purpose is to bring glory to God by assisting churches and individuals in carrying out the Great Commission through (1) ministries of evangelism, (2) establishing indigenous churches, and (3) training nationals to do the same. Cedric’s ministry embodies all three of these purposes, making him an invaluable addition to our team. His unique background and extensive contacts in Southeast Asia will open doors that were previously inaccessible to American missionaries, allowing us to reach the unreached with the gospel in countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore.
Cedric’s strategy involves developing partnerships and scouting opportunities for evangelism and church planting, beginning with camps and progressing to pastoral training through block classes. His efforts will also include planning and implementing short-term trips to establish Christian camps, Bible schools, and train leaders of future indigenous churches. We believe that his ministry will significantly enlarge our influence and bring many to Christ.
We deeply appreciate your ongoing support for Cedric’s ministry. Your regular donations have been vital to his work, and we encourage you to continue this generous support as Cedric transitions into his new role with EMU International. Together, we can achieve great things for the Kingdom of God.
Please send all future donations to: EMU International, P.O. Box 790, Taylors, SC 29687-0016. Designate to Cedric Wong.
